Building Wellness Institute
The Building Wellness Institute(BWI) was created by Daycon in 2008 to respond to the growing demand for sustainable cleaning procedures. Working closely with the Green Seal organization, BWI assisted more than 50 companies and organizations with completing its comprehensive training program in compliance with the Green Seal 42 Standard(GS42), and/or achieving GS 42 certification.
GS-42 Certification
This Green Seal certification is awarded after meeting the highest standards in commercial, public, and institutional cleaning. Our GS-42 training course was designed to assist building service contractors, universities, and other institutions in their green efforts.
On-Site & Online Support
Daycon provides on-site auditing and online sustainable usage reports to help our partners promote a healthier environment for building occupants. With our custom dashboard, automatically track progress and send reports to LEED AP’s along the way.
Third-Party Green Certifications
Dozens of products we carry have earned third party certifications for being manufactured to the highest possible environmental standards. These products meet strict industry guidelines for quality and performance, and we’re especially proud to offer them to you.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The EPA is a federal agency established to protect human health and the environment through development and enforcement of environmental standards and regulations. Products such as paper and poly liners can be manufactured to the EPA’s green standards, allowing consumers to make informed decisions about purchases.
Green Seal™
This non-profit organization provides science-based environmental certification standards that are credible, transparent, and essential to helping manufacturers, purchasers, and consumers make responsible choices that positively impact business behavior and improve quality of life.
ECOLOGO®
ECOLOGO products, services, and packaging are certified green for their reduced environmental impact. These certifications are voluntary, lifecycle-based, and indicate a product has undergone rigorous scientific testing or exhaustive auditing to prove its compliance with high environmental performance standards.
Safer Choice
Safer Choice-labeled products are evaluated according to the EPA’s strict products standards and rigorous testing. For over 15 years, the program has labeled products that are safer for workplaces, families, animals, communities, and the environment. The label represents leadership in safe product formulation.
Green Label™ & Green Label Plus™
Created by the Carpet & Rug Institute™ (CRI), these programs test carpet, cushions, and adhesives to help specifiers identify products with low emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds. These enhanced programs set higher standards for Indoor Air Quality and ensure customers are purchasing products that emit the lowest amount of chemicals.
The Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC)
FSC is an independent, non-profit organization that protects forests for future generations. From source to end product, this organization sets standards under which forests and companies are certified to ensure the highest level of integrity in the chain of processing paper.
BioPreferred
Managed by the USDA, the BioPreferred program helps to increase the purchase and use of biobased products, increase the use of renewable resources, and reduce adverse environmental and health impacts. The program accomplishes this through mandatory purchasing requirements for federal agencies and their contractors.
